About

Emily Cheever grew up in beautiful Loudoun County Virginia during a time when the opening of "a fancy Giant" grocery store was a big deal. After high school she went on to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, studying in the prestigious Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing.

After receiving her BFA in Screenwriting with a Sociology Minor, she got a position as a Film/TV Critic and Editor at the start-up website Ology.com. There she honed her skills as a professional blogger; interviewing celebrities, recapping shows, reviewing films, and learning which SEO buzzwords to use in order to get the most hits on a viral cat video.

Emily then decided to make the to move out to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of film/TV writing. She's been there since, working in production and management companies as well as taking many classic gig economy positions.

She's recently received accolades for her work, winning Best Script at the Women's Independent Film Festival and receiving a spot on Screencraft's Treasure Beach, Jamaica Writer's Residency.

She believes that karma can be achieved by taking glasses back to the bar when finished and that there are not enough public trashcans in L.A.
